Carly Weisfelner's Teaching Portfolio

Hello and welcome to my online portfolio! I am a passionate and dedicated educator fostering growth in every child’s journey.

About Miss Weisfelner

My Educational Journey

I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education and my M.S. in Special Education from Pennsylvania State University. My academic background equips me with the skills to foster a nurturing and effective learning environment. I grew up on Long Island, New York, and attended Syosset Central School District for all of my schooling.

For my Pre-Student Teaching, I was placed in an inclusionary second grade classroom at Curwensville Area Elementary School in Curwensville, Pennsylvania, where I also became a full-time student teacher in the spring of 2023. For Graduate school, I completed my fall field experience in Easterly Parkway Elementary School in State College, Pennsylvania, where I was placed in an Autistic/Emotional Support Classroom. For my spring field experience, I was placed in an Autistic Support room in State College Area High School in State College, Pennsylvania.

I am learning and growing with all of my students, and I was so honored to be their student teacher. My student teaching experience has filled me with nothing but knowledge, skills, and resources to help me with my future as an educator.

Most recently, I have been working in Jericho UFSD as a 1:1 Teaching Aide in a second grade classroom. In this position I have been able to apply many of my skills as a Special Educator to aid my student in a 1:1 setting, and to watch him thrive under my care.

Additionally, I am enjoying being the Lower Camp Girls Assistant Head Counselor at Camp Taconic during the summer, and a 1st Grade Religious School Teacher at North Shore Synagogue on Sundays.
